Theoretical Evaluation for Soil Thrust of Single-Track System over Clay Slope via Upper Bound Analysis

This study aimed to theoretically evaluate soil thrust on a clay slope as reaction force associated with the motion of an off-road tracked vehicle. The existing concept potential failure modes block flat ground has extended determine sloped ground. Based upper-bound limit analysis, under most critical was derived for three modes: block, triangular-wedge, and trapezoidal-wedge failures. Specifically, influence angle, shear strength clay, weight vehicle, geometry track system investigated. Only triangular wedge were able occur, single-track could lead different modes. Under mode, decreased became stiff, vehicle increased. On other hand, angle triangular-wedge mode.
